Accenture acquires cloud analytics firm Core Compete
Global consulting firm Accenture has acquired Core Compete for an undisclosed fee. The cloud analytics services firm is based in the US, with additional offices in the UK.
Over the past year, the world has seen a vast increase in the adoption of cloud technology, as companies look to adapt to adverse conditions, and prepare for the post-pandemic future. Cloud transformations are being used to enable organisations to unlock the enterprise value from data and AI strategy at speed – and consulting firms which can help deliver these benefits are well positioned to tap into a lucrative market looking ahead.
As a result, Accenture has continued its global acquisition drive with the purchase of North Carolina headquartered cloud analytics firm Core Compete. Founded in 2012, Core Compete also has offices in India and Britain, and its international team of more than 260 professionals will now join Accenture’s Applied Intelligence practice, strengthening how the company helps clients shape and execute their cloud-based data and AI strategies to drive more business value.
Sanjeev Vohra, Accenture’s global lead for Applied Intelligence, said, “Core Compete’s approach to cloud analytics transformation helps us further accelerate time to value for our clients, giving them the right tools, strategy and talent to reap the full benefits of being data-driven.”
Core Compete is well-positioned to meet a significant need in the market. The firm enables digital transformations with cloud-native solutions that deliver AI and machine learning-infused business outcomes, to serve a diverse client base across the US and UK, with particular focus on supply chain, retail and financial services. The move will help the firm expand its global footprint, and pick up new clients around the world.
“We have always seen the power of cloud analytics and are proud of the client transformations we’ve led over the past nine years,” said Shiva Kommareddi, a Managing Partner with Core Compete. “Accenture’s investment in cloud and focus on AI as an exponential source of value is exactly what we need to help broaden our impact across new markets and industries and deepen our impact with clients.”
This acquisition builds on Accenture’s growing analytics, data and AI business around the world. This includes Mudano – a strategic data advisory company which supports to UK financial services firms – which it acquired in early 2020.
