Healthcare communications company Fishawack Health has acquired research consultancy PRMA Consulting. The firm specialises in market access and health economics, and will boost Fishawack’s European and Asia-Pacific presence.

Founded in 2006, PRMA Consulting is an independent, specialist consultancy solving some of the most challenging market access issues facing pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Headquartered in Fleet, Hampshire, the UK consultancy provides clients with strategic market access, value propositions evidence generation, and contracting and payer strategy, among other services.

As the healthcare market continues to attract investment, amid the continued pandemic, PRMA has attracted the advances of life science commercialisation specialist Fishawack Health. The UK headquartered firm has acquired PRMA, having been impressed by its global market access and health economics outcomes research work. Established in 2001, Fishawack is now powered by 950 professionals, hosting strategic, creative, and scientific experts around the world.

The move boosts Fishawack’s global footprint, adding offices across Europe, Asia, and the US to its own locales. At the same time, it bolsters Fishawack’s strategic offering, adding deep expertise in Asia-Pacific and European markets to complement the company’s existing market access offering in North America – and helping it to offer one of the industry’s leading market access and health and economic outcomes research capabilities.

“We’re delighted to welcome PRMA Consulting to our group – our third acquisition of 2021,” Oliver Dennis, Fishawack Health Co-founder, and CEO, said. “PRMA Consulting brings extensive global market access, HEOR, and disease area expertise, making them an important addition to our Consulting business unit.”

At the same time, the deal offers a major opportunity for PRMA to expand its own client base. PRMA’s portfolio includes cloud-based digital applications aimed at helping clients “unlock and optimise product value,” and Fishawack has announced that it intends to make these applications available to all of its existing clients.

David Sykes, Founding Partner at PRMA Consulting, noted, “We are excited about the opportunity of joining Fishawack Health and building out the leading global value, evidence, and access group. We were drawn by our shared culture and values and the ability to tap into existing complementary Fishawack Health resources, which will help us provide our clients with an even better experience.”

The news comes just months after Kin + Carta announced it had also sold its healthcare communications business Hive, to Fishawack Medical Communications and Fishawack Midco US Holdings. The Hive Health Group consists of two brands – Hive Health and Pollen Health – which each partner with clients from across the life sciences industry.
