DTE Business Advisers promotes duo in Bury office to Manager
Jonathan Yip and Jonathan Harris have been promoted to Managers at DTE Business Advisers. The duo are both based in Bury and serve SMEs in various sectors across the North West of England.
Fiona O’Loughlin, Director and Head of Audit at DTE Business Advisers’ Bury office, commented, “Both Jonathan Harris and Jonathan Yip have shown a remarkable resilience and adapted quickly to the new way of working [during the Covid-19 pandemic]. Promoting them to Managers reflects DTE’s ethos of nurturing and rewarding talented staff as we continue to support our clients with unrivalled hands-on service. We wish them both every success in their new roles.”
DTE is an independent professional services firm based the North West England. Headquartered in Manchester, the company offers its services in Bury, Bolton, Rochdale and the rest of the North West – including auditing, tax consultancy, forensic accounting and financial planning, among others.
For the past year, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the firm has had to adjust the way it works with and support clients in many aspects, and Yip and Harris have both been exemplary in that respect, according to a release from the firm.
Harris said of the news, “I am really excited to be undertaking this new role within DTE… [Where] I have been able to gain experience in accounts and audit, management accounts, bookkeeping and tax, and in businesses operating in a range of different services. This has helped me understand the needs and requirements of our clients, and help build strong relationships over the years. I am looking forward to the challenges and experiences that lie ahead...”
Harris arrived with DTE as a Graduate Trainee seven years ago, having completed a Bachelor’s degree at Lancaster University. At the same time, Yip worked as an Audit Executive in Hong Kong for three years with global professional services firm Mazars, before moving to the UK and joining DTE in 2016. In their new position as Audit Managers, both professionals will continue to work closely with clients to support them in their needs, overseeing audit fieldwork as well as supervising the training of juniors.
Reflecting on his promotion, Yip noted, “I am delighted to take up this new role in DTE. With 8 years of experience in audit and accounts in small to publicly listed companies, this new position will provide me with the opportunity to work more closely with our clients and to give them the full support that they need as many face increased challenges during the global pandemic.
The latest appointment follows DTE’s naming of Derek Armstrong as a Partner in February 2021.
