Big Four members Dee Vaghela and Adrian Hughes join BDO
The national technology risk assurance practice of audit and advisory company BDO has picked up two new Big Four hires. Dee Vaghela has joined from EY, while Adrian Hughes arrives from PwC.
Over the last few years BDO’s technology and risk assurance (TRA) team has grown to over 100 partners and colleagues, supporting a wide variety of clients and increasingly complex audits across London and the South East, the Midlands and the North. As the company looks to further build on that momentum, it has hired former Big Four expert Dee Vaghela.
In his new role, Vaghela will support new and existing clients leveraging technology solutions, data analytics and controls specialists across our external audit portfolio. He has particular expertise within the natural resources and energy and manufacturing sectors.
Vaghela’s arrival coincides with Adrian Hughes also joining BDO’s national TRA practice. Based in London, the former PwC specialist will support the wider team in applying advanced technology and data analytics to the audit process, and will have a specific focus on maintaining consistent IT audit quality across our audit portfolio.
Commenting on the two appointments, Steve Rumble, Partner and Technology Risk Assurance Lead at BDO said, “I am pleased to able to welcome Dee and Adrian to the firm today. These appointments come as part of our continued investment in our wider audit and assurance team and both new partners bring years of experience to complement the expertise of our team.”
The demand for technology and data analytics as part of the audit process has grown significantly in recent years, something Rumble said reflected a shift and BDO’s continued commitment to “providing high quality audits.”
BDO has picked up a string of contract wins from the Big Four of KPMG, PwC, EY and Deloitte in recent months, following regulatory shifts in the UK auditing market. As a result, this has also seen a number of professionals move from those firms to BDO.
