Shaheen Sayed new Technology lead of Accenture UK and Ireland
Accenture has named Shaheen Sayed as the new Managing Director of Technology for its UK and Ireland wing. Sayed has been with the consultancy for two decades, and was most recently its Health and Public Service Lead.
Against a backdrop of seismic change, there is now an expedited need for technology to deliver outcomes that matter for both business and the good of society. As the firm looks to help clients deal with this heightened demand for innovation, Accenture has appointed Shaheen Sayed as the firm’s UK and Ireland Technology lead, effective from December 1st.
Sayed said of her new challenge, “The need for digital platforms and experiences is accelerating at pace. As such, the role of Accenture Technology has never been more important and I’m looking forward to leading our UKI Technology business.”
Having spent over 20 years with Accenture, Sayed has spent the last nine years in the firm’s senior leadership. She most recently served as lead for Accenture’s Health and Public Service business in the region, but this followed spells as Technology Consuting Lead for talent and organisation in Accenture’s Financial Services wing, as well as being Global Technology Account Lead in its Capital Markets practice.
Throughout her time with Accenture, Sayed has subsequently led some of the most pioneering technology and business transformation programmes for clients across the public and private sector, in the UK and globally. She was also recently named as one of the Top 10 most Influential Black and Minority Ethnic leaders in the UK by the Financial Times, and remains a visiting guest lecturer on the London School of Economics for the institution’s Global Masters in Management programme.
Olly Benzecry, Country Managing Director, Accenture UK and Ireland, remarked, “Shaheen’s broad experience with digital transformation and proven track record of success working with our clients around the world make her the ideal person to lead Accenture Technology here in the UK and Ireland… She is passionate about driving change for our clients and has contributed greatly to identifying, engaging with and developing the next generation of leaders. I am delighted to see her taking on this important role.”
Sayed takes on the role from Zahra Bahrololoumi, who exits the position after three years. In a post on her personal LinkedIn profile, Sayed noted she was keen “to build on the success Zahra Bahrololoumi has delivered and to take our business to new heights.”
Many of Sayed’s colleagues at Accenture were similarly keen to celebrate her new role. Commenting on the LinkedIn post, Kaite Fury, a Senior Manager in Delivery Control at Accenture said, “Huge congratulations Shaheen - this is really tremendous news!!”
Kieran Bowyer, a Senior Recruitment Specialist in Experienced Hire at Accenture added, “[I am] looking forward to working together when you start!” while Jasmine Dhiman, Capital Markets Technology Lead UK and Ireland Managing Director at Accenture, also noted, “I couldn’t be more excited to see you at the helm of this trailblazing part of Accenture.”
