Aon partner Grant Suckling joins Ross Trustees as Trustee Director

Ross Trustees has appointed Grant Suckling as Trustee Director. Suckling joins having spent the last 20 years with Aon, where he held a number of leadership roles, in the UK, the US, India and Mauritius.

Established in 2010, Ross Trustees specialises in providing independent professional trustee and support services to occupational pension schemes. Professional pension trusteeship is at the heart of what the business offers and is delivered through a combination of Chair of Trustees, co-trustee and sole corporate trustee appointments; meanwhile the firm also hosts a standalone pensions support services arm, providing secretarial, pensions managerial and governance solutions to a variety of clients.

As more trustee boards and employers look to professional trustees to help develop their strategic pensions objectives and to deliver better outcomes for members, Ross Trustees has been appointing a series of new team members. Following the arrival of of Janet Branagh and Nigel Wildman to Ross Trustees’ professional trustee wing earlier in October, the firm has obtained a new Trustee Director in the form of Grant Suckling.

Suckling’s last position saw him spend close to 20 years with consulting firm Aon – where he was latterly a Partner. Over the course of his stay with the company, he held key advisory roles leading Trustee Boards and employers of pension plans included as a Scheme Secretary, Outsourced Pensions Manager, Governance and Administration lead advisor, Company advisor, Pensions Consultant, Strategic Advisor and Scheme Actuary. These outsourced roles included being Director of KPMG Pension Trust Company, and Pensions Manager with Allianz.

He also held a number of leadership roles, both in the UK and overseas, including Aon’s US, India and Mauritius wings. Most recently his executive remit included being a People Lead responsible for talent recruitment, retention and engagement of over 275 colleagues, advising senior management, people managers and HR.

Suckling is both an Association of Professional Pension Trustees accredited trustee and a member of the Pensions Management Institute.
