Digital transformation specialist IMD adds three professionals
Digital transformation consultancy IMD has added a trio of experts to its ranks. Ashley Morrell has been appointed as a Managing Consultant, while Jonathan Collacott arrives as a Strategic Development Lead, and Darwin McDonough takes the role of Senior Consultant.
Founded in 2015, IMD Group is a professional services firm specialising in digital transformation in the secure and public sector environments. From the firm’s three UK locales, its staff deploy methodologies and tools to flexibly fill the capability gaps of clients, up-skilling their teams to prepare for life after a change project. As the firm looks to respond to greater demand for digital solutions, while firms look to enable home working during the pandemic, IMD has beefed up its team with three new hires.
Ashley Morrell joins IMD as a Managing Consultant, bringing more than seven years of experience in project management in defence. He has been involved in a wide range of defence projects, including major equipment acquisition, transformation, safety cases and scientific research. These projects have required delivery of results from concept to in-life service and disposal. As an Army veteran and current Army Reservist, IMD hopes he will bring important user experience to its defence clients, while his management expertise will add to IMD’s growing P3M capability.
Morrell remarked, “Having worked with IMD previously I am very pleased to be joining a professional team. Everyone I’ve met at IMD is focused on delivering the best for both the client and individuals in the company, which allows the team to grow in capability. I hope I can add to the culture and develop individuals and the team.”
Jonathan Collacott also brings a wide range of experience in defence projects to IMD. The new Strategic Development Lead brings more than 20 years of experience across government and the defence and security sector. As a former Logistics Officer of the Royal Navy, Collacott also brings user experience, while as a member of Big Four firm EY, he has also consulted on large scale performance improvement programmes and supported clients to deliver complex, high value procurements.
Commenting, Collacott said, “I am very excited about joining such a rapidly growing business and look forward to further developing the IMD brand and the services that the firm offers its clients.”
Darwin McDonough meanwhile joins as a Senior Consultant, following a 31 year RAF career. Having served in many different locations across the UK and overseas, including operational tours in Iraq, Bosnia, Afghanistan and the Falkland Islands, he gained extensive PM experience during numerous ICT Installations home and abroad. These included leading major projects such as a complete HQ refurbishment in Afghanistan to configuring small training networks to assist junior officers during their branch training. McDonough also previously delivered Management Training to RAF personnel as part of their promotion course.
On joining IMD, McDonough stated, “I am thrilled to be joining such a diverse and proactive company as IMD Group. I am looking forward to making a difference and to the opportunity to enhance my current skill set with new and exciting projects to help in the growth of IMD.”
