Berkeley Research Group has announced that it is expanding its eDiscovery offering in its Hong Kong, Singapore and London offices. The addition of the RelativityOne solution to the practices is aimed at improving value for money among its clients, as well as helping them scale data solutions.

Berkeley Research Group (BRG) is a global consulting firm that helps leading organisations advance in three key areas: corporate finance, performance improvement, and disputes and investigations. BRG's forensic technology professionals advise clients on minimising the risks of operating in a technology-reliant economy, using innovative tools and a client-centered consultative approach. The latest way the firm has sought to expand these latter services is with the application of a new e-discovery platform.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with RelativityOne in Europe and Asia-Pacific”, said Erick Gunawan, Head of BRG’s technology and analytics practice in APAC and a director in the Singapore office.

Electronic discovery (also called e-discovery) refers to a process in which electronic data is sought, located, and secured with the intent of using it as evidence in a civil or criminal legal case. RelativityOne, Relativity’s cloud-based eDiscovery solution, will now be used in BRG’s Hong Kong, Singapore and London offices – a move which BRG hopes will allow it to bolster its eDiscovery services to provide more value and better results for its clients. At the same time, BRG expects it will give added scalability, and allow the firm to build expertise and intellectual property on top of its connected global solution.

“Bringing RelativityOne to Asia and the UK will provide BRG with the ability to offer the most extensibility and flexibility to its expanding global customer base”, added Stuart Hall, Senior Manager, APAC Service Delivery at Relativity. “I look forward to seeing how BRG will continue innovating for its clients and helping them to solve complex eDiscovery problems for some of the largest corporations and law firms globally whilst operating securely in the cloud.”

According to a release from the firm, BRG will now utilise RelativityOne for M&A, white collar investigations and communications compliance monitoring, as well as a de facto document review platform to manage large, complex disputes. The new offerings it enables for clients in Hong Kong, Singapore and London is touted to enable BRG to provide international clients with “a one-stop shop for their most complex and challenging problems.”

Adam Brun, an Associate Director in BRG’s London office, concluded, “RelativityOne is a flexible and reliable platform that BRG is leveraging in Europe to service our clients’ needs, which include complex investigations involving terabytes of data, multiparty cross-border litigations and large-scale data anonymisation matters.”
