Raj Mittal joins FRP Advisory from Grant Thornton
FRP Advisory has boosted its Birmingham office with the appointment of former Grant Thornton Director Raj Mittal as Partner. According to the firm, the addition of Mittal fits well with its current network of relationships.
Founded in 2010, FRP Advisory is a professional services firm that provides services to businesses and individuals who are facing “financial or operational uncertainty”, including turnaround management, debt rescheduling advice, operational change management support, and refinancing and fund raising. The firm has a team of 215, including 30 partners, who work from its 13 office locations across England and Scotland.
To boost its Midlands-based operation, the consulting firm appointed Raj Mittal as Partner in its Birmingham, who will join the 27 Midlands staff members, including five partners. “Raj has proven experience working with companies, lenders and advisers across the Midlands. Raj's strong relationships – with not just the major clearing banks but also the full range of debt providers and his connections with the private equity firms active across the UK – fit with FRP Advisory's existing network of relationships,” comments Gerald Smith, Partner and Head of FRP Advisory’s Birmingham office.
Mittal joins from Grant Thornton, where he has worked since 2010. He joined the firm as Associate Director in Financial Advisory Services, after which he was promoted to Director in Advisory Services in 2012. During his time at Grant Thornton, Mittal specialised in financial solutions in the mid-market, including accelerated M&A and refinancing. Prior to this, he worked at EY for more than seven years as Assistant Director in Transaction Advisory Services. Mittal started his career as Associate in Global Corporate Finance at Andersen in 2001.
