Rob Potter joins Genoa Black as Strategy Client Director
Rob Potter has joined Edinburgh business consultancy Genoa Black as Client Strategy Director. The experienced marketing expert will now drive the firm’s international projects, following a two-year spell with Danfoss Power Solutions.
Genoa Black Managing Partner Claire Kinloch said, “We are delighted to welcome Rob to Genoa Black at a time when the company is propelling itself forward in terms of growth and scale. He will bring a fresh approach to our business, the team and our customers particularly in the areas of B2B.”
With an extensive track record in the global oil and gas, industrial, engineering and construction sectors, Potter has begun working on Genoa Black’s international projects with immediate effect. The firm hopes he will be able to bring added value to its clients at a critical time, as the global economy looks to start the long road to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Most recently, Potter was employed by Danfoss Power Solutions, where he was Global Marketing Manager for nearly two years. In that role, he was tasked with bringing the firm’s Digital Displacement Business and its leading-edge products through a development journey, building an effective product branding, marketing and communications strategy. All in all, Potter has spent around 16 years in the marketing segment, working in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the US during that time. He also previously held senor roles at Reservoir Group and EV.
Founded by Claire and Alan Kinloch and Gaynor Duthie in 2013, Genoa Black works to create a marketing-led strategic consultancy focused on helping clients grow and de-risk decision making through close relationships. It has delivered more than 700 strategies and recently reported 6% year on year growth in turnover for the first two quarters of 2020. Even amid the current time of economic uncertainty, it has continued to grow; since March, it has signed up new clients including Barum & Dewar, Grampian Fasteners, Provan Sports, Clean Water Wave and Aqualution.
