Marc Browne and Tim Wheeler join Arcus Consultancy Services

Specialist renewable energy consultancy Arcus has strengthened its UK operations with two senior hires. Marc Browne and Tim Wheeler have joined the UK origin firm’s Edinburgh and York offices respectively.

Founded in 2012, Arcus Consultancy Services is a planning, environmental and engineering consultancy with offices in the UK (York, Glasgow and Edinburgh) and South Africa (Cape Town). The firm’s team of around 80 consultants offers specialist services to a range of sectors including: minerals and waste, road and rail infrastructure, renewable energy, water and energy infrastructure. Projects include significant renewable energy and infrastructure developments in Europe and Africa.

As the firm looks to enhance its environmental, planning and engineering offering, Arcus has appointed offshore wind specialist Marc Browne as Offshore Development Manager, based in Edinburgh. He will now work to head up the company’s offshore wind business, and develop and direct a growing workload in this exciting and varied sector.

Marc Browne and Tim Wheeler - ArcusBrowne has extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, in particular offshore wind, along with other sectors such as marine fish farming. Most recently, he was Head of Projects & Site Development with The Scottish Salmon Company, and has also spent time with SSE Renewables, where he was Offshore Environmental Advisor and Consents Manager.

Tim Wheeler has also joined Arcus as a Principal Planner. A chartered town planner with 35 years’ experience, Wheeler has previously worked with major renewable energy developers, private consultancy and other UK Government agencies. Prior to arriving at Arcus, he worked at the Planning Inspectorate, where he determined more than 150 planning appeals.
