Marcus Evans joins Credit Portfolio Advisory team of Alantra

After seventeen years at Big Four firm KPMG, Marcus Evans has joined Alantra as a Managing Director. 

Evans becomes a member of Alantra’s Alantra’s Credit Portfolio Advisory team. This practice helps banks, non-bank lenders and credit investors with the structuring and execution of deals, as part of their endeavours to optimise their credit portfolios.

Alantra’s Credit Portfolio Advisory practice has a presence in the UK, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Brazil and China, and has advised on over 90 transactions for a total volume of over €62 billion in the last two years. The firm’s London-based team of the practice consists of thirty professionals, serving the England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland markets.

Newly appointed Evans will join the UK’s senior team, and brings over 19 years’ experience to the role. Prior to joining, he was a senior partner at KPMG in its Deal Advisory practice, focused on the financial services sector. In the role, he worked investment firms, banks and asset managers on financial due diligence, strategy, regulatory and other areas. 

Before that, Evans was Chief of Staff to the Chairman, working at the time with the newly elected Chairman Bill Michael and other senior leaders on a 12 month secondment as Chief of Staff, retaining some deal advisory client responsibilities in parallel. He also served as a partner in KPMG’s ECB Office in Frankfurt, among others.

“Marcus is an experienced deals practitioner and will leverage his European banking and regulatory relationships, as well as his expertise in providing regulatory capital advice to banks, financial institutions and private equity investors. His insights and advice will in many cases develop into opportunities for Alantra to assist clients in deleveraging credit portfolios or non-core businesses sales, or in sourcing and optimising capital,” stated Alantra in a press statement.

Alongside credit portfolio advisory, Alantra also supports its clients with investment banking, merger & acquisition advisory and alternative asset management services to companies and investors operating in the mid-market segment.
