UK pensions advisory firm Isio has appointed Vito Faircloth to the newly created role of Head of Digital Solutions. The firm, which combines actuarial expertise, third party administration, investment consulting and defined contribution specialisms, was formed at the turn of the year, and already advises on the management of pension assets worth over £90 billion

At the end of 2019, KPMG confirmed it had consented to the management buyout of its UK pensions advisory wing. The practice employs about 20 Partners and 500 staff, working for some of UK’s largest pension companies – and at the start of 2020 the firm rebranded to Isio as a sign of its new independence.

Isio already advises more than 1,000 clients, ranging from mid-sized companies to FTSE 100s, on the management of pension assets worth over £90 billion. As pension funds look for expert advice amid the coronavirus pandemic, Isio has taken steps to prepare for even greater demand, with the appointment of Vito Faircloth to the newly created role of Head of Digital Solutions. He will subsequently be responsible for leading Isio’s digital strategy to drive innovation for the benefit of clients and to enhance Isio’s operational efficiency through technology.

Andrew Coles, CEO of Isio, commented, “We see the development of our digital and technology capabilities as being key to the growth of our business and a real differentiator in a market which is ripe for further digitalisation. We are excited about our new life as an independent advisor and are pleased to welcome talented individuals like Vito to our team, who are attracted by our entrepreneurial approach and a focus to offer outcome-focused solutions for our clients.”

Faircloth brings close to a decade of experience with him, joining Isio from his role as UK Digital Solutions Leader at the UK’s largest pension consultancy Mercer. There, he was instrumental in leading some of the latest developments in the pensions industry. Earlier in his career, Faircloth also held roles as a Financial Planner for Attivo Financial Planning and a Wealth Manager for Investment Quorom.

In 2016 Vito became the youngest Fellow in the history of the Personal Finance Society and is committed to advising and supporting younger people on financial literacy and planning, having co-founded Excelerate Mentoring, a non-for-profit group focused on supporting, developing and mentoring the next generation.

Ian Warman, Partner and Head of IT Transformation at Isio, remarked, “We are looking forward to working with Vito to develop and enhance our existing digital capabilities and technology and to further drive improved services for clients at a time when digital technologies are more important than ever.”
