Katie Sharpe joins Mazars from Saffery Champness
Mazars has hired Katie Sharpe as the National Delivery Manager for its payroll business. Sharpe arrives having recently worked as Senior Manager in Payroll Services at Saffery Champness.
In 2019, Mazars reported its ninth successive year of revenue growth and sixth of profit before tax growth in the UK. The firm’s overall revenue increased from £173.6 million to £181.4 million, representing 4.5% growth. Operating profit was £33.5 million, a 3.7% increase over the previous financial year.
In the UK Mazars has approximately 140 partners and over 1,700 employees. With the firm looking to continue building on its buoyant economic performance into a new decade, Mazars has rapidly been growing its senior team in recent months – for example, in October it added 10 Partners to its ranks.
As the firm continues to grow its senior expertise in 2020, the international accounting and advisory firm has appointed Katie Sharpe as its National Payroll Delivery Manager. As businesses grow and expand internationally, managing staffing and payroll becomes increasingly complex. Failure to file accurate and timely returns, pay staff correctly or maintain payroll confidentiality could put companies at risk of financial penalties and loss of good will. Sharpe will now apply her 12 years of payroll experience to oversee Mazars’ team assisting clients with such issues.
Sharpe’s career began as a Payroll Administrator at NorthgateArinso, where her duties included processing two client payrolls of 1300 and 400 employees from start to finish including all input to the payroll system. After four years she moved to Top Right Group as Payroll and Benefits Manager, helping the firm leave its previous payroll and HR provider and begin to process both in house as a Consultant on the Project Team.
Sharpe joined Bauer in 2016, and became HR Systems Manager at the firm before taking a position at Saffery Champness. There, she was latterly Senior Manager – Payroll Services. On top of this, Sharpe holds a Foundation Degree from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), and according to her LinkedIn, still has her “Own hair + teeth.
