Spectrum Corporate Finance promotes three senior advisors

Specialist advisory firm Spectrum Corporate Finance has expanded its senior team with three promotions. Bilal Hasan has been made a Director, Richard Boyden has been named as an Associate Director, and James Mines has been installed as Head of Technology at the UK firm.

Spectrum Corporate Finance was set up in 2010 by joint managing directors Simon Davies, Clive Hatchard and Ian Milne. The corporate finance and M&A advisory firm has been involved in many of Europe’s leading deals from either an advisory or a funding perspective, including ICS Cool Energy, Mountain Warehouse, Bargate Homes, Land of Leather, Virgin Wines, Arqiva, British and Irish Modern Music Institute, Red Funnel Group and Raymond Brown.

As the firm continues to grow its profile in its 10th year of business, Spectrum Corporate Finance recently committed to a string of recent promotions which brought 27 experienced professionals to the firm across its offices in London, Reading and Southampton. Following this, the firm has announced three senior team appointments. Bilal Hasan has been promoted to Director, Richard Boyden has been promoted to Associate Director, and James Mines has been promoted to Head of Technology.

Bilal Hasan joined Spectrum in 2014 and has successfully advised on a number of transactions including mergers, acquisitions, MBOs and company sales to both trade and private equity. Since then he has worked closely with founders and management teams to help them optimise their M&A strategy for transactions typically ranging between £5 million and £50 million. Hasan has advised on many notable transactions for Spectrum including the merger of MightyHive with ConversionWorks, the sales of Brand View and Finders Keepers, and the MBOs of Compliance Online, World of Books and AJM Healthcare.

Richard Boyden has been with Spectrum since 2015, working on a wide range of mid-market transactions spanning sectors including business services, healthcare, travel and technology. In his five years with the firm, he has taken a leading role in a number of recent transactions. Most recently Boyden advised on the sale of Integra community living options to National Care Group; the MBO of Amberjack backed by LDC; and the sale of ConneXion World Cargo to AIT Worldwide Logistics in Chicago, US.

James Mines is a corporate finance professional who joined Spectrum in 2014. Mines boasts more than 12 years of experience in his field, having arrived from Grant Thornton’s technology team, and has remained focused on the sector during his time at Spectrum. Mines has completed many significant deals in the sector including the sale of MTI Europe to Endless, and the sale of ICE InsureTech to Acturis. In his new role, James will continue to focus on technology sector transactions, and lead this sector specialism for the firm.
