YLD appoints Fábio Oliveira as Managing Director
Software engineering and design consultancy YLD has appointed Fabio Oliveira as its new Managing Director. Oliveira has been Managing Director of the firm’s Portuguese wing for the last three years.
With offices in London, Lisbon and Porto, YLD is a software engineering and digital product design consultancy specialising in helping large enterprises grow their digital capabilities. Founded in 2013, YLD is a long-standing digital partner to companies including Condé Nast, The Economist, and GoDaddy.
As the firm prepares for a busy 2020, it has promoted a new Managing Director for its global team. Prior to his time with YLD, Fábio Oliveira accrued five years of experience in the world of software design. He initially joined YLD as a Senior Software Engineering Consultant in late 2014, before being promoted to Managing Director for the company’s Portuguese operations one year later.
Over the course of his time with the company, Oliveira has led many of YLD’s software engineering and consultancy projects for the likes of Trainline, News UK and The Times.
Oliveira said of his time with YLD, “The combination of problem-solving and human-centred engineering that drew me to YLD, still holds true today. I am honoured to be stepping into this role to continue this ethos for our team and our clients and I look forward to this next era together with everyone.”
Now, Oliveira has been promoted to the role of Managing Director for the whole organisation. He begins work in the capacity immediately, and he will take responsibility for leading and developing YLD’s global operations, including its remote engineering teams. He will hold the role alongside his position as CEO of Addcode, a YLD subsidiary which consists of a fully dedicated engineering team, focused on developing long term solutions in collaboration with clients.
Nuno Job, YLD co-founder and CEO, commented, “Fábio has been an integral part of YLD since our earliest days. He brings the highest calibre of technical and leadership skills to this new role, honed in his time building diverse and thriving operations in Portugal. As our team grows and our bespoke services increase, I am excited to work with Fabio to help even more companies in their digital transformation.”
