Rob McCann and Nick Andrews Partners at BDO Advisory
Auditing and advisory firm BDO has appointed two new Partners to its consulting outfit in the UK. Rob McCann and Nick Andrews join as the latest in a rash of appointments across the firm, which is enjoying heightened demand.
2019 has proven to be a key year of growth for BDO. In its first 12 months as the UK’s fifth-largest professional services firm, the global auditing and advisory firm has committed itself to a swathe of new hires and promotions, appointing a succession of new Partners in recent months to meet with heightened client demand.
Since the start of 2019, the firm has appointed 12 new Partners and promoted 14 Directors to Partner, spanning their London and regional offices. Now, the UK wing of BDO has further grown its advisory resource with the appointment of two new Partners.
Rob McCann is a Partner in corporate finance in the firm’s Manchester office. Prior to his arrival at BDO, McCann spent extended spells with Rothschild and Lloyds Bank. He started his career with a three-year stint as an Audit Associate at EY before spending two years as a Manager in Transaction Services at KPMG. He will now work with BDO’s M&A team across the North, leading the team in Manchester and building upon his experience in the local and national private equity market to help businesses achieve their strategic investment and exit ambitions.
Nick Andrews joins BDO’s London Forensics team. Before joining BDO, Andrews spent six years at rival mid-tier professional services firm Grant Thornton, becoming a Partner in forensic and investigation services before departing this year. Before that, he enjoyed a 28-year stay with KPMG, becoming a Partner in 1998. Andrews will now focus on developing BDO’s M&A disputes offering, which includes acting as an expert determiner and advisor or expert witness in various disputes.
Paul Eagland, Managing Partner at BDO, said, “Our clients are coming to us with increasingly complex challenges and requirements, so it is crucial that we continue to expand and develop our areas of expertise with appointments like this. Private Equity remains one of our key areas of focus and Rob’s knowledge and experience will allow us to continue to be experts of the PE market in the North West. Nick’s knowledge of M&A disputes will also be a real asset to our Forensics team, and it is fantastic to welcome them both to the firm.”
