EY makes 733 Partner promotions globally
Big Four firm EY has announced a wave of promotions across its global operations. While the bulk of the Partner roles were handed to assurance and tax operations, EY’s consulting wing accounted for a quarter of the promotions.
There are more than 270,000 EY professionals in over 150 countries around the world. Earlier in the year, the firm was named one of the UK's top consulting companies to work for by the Sunday Times; EY’s growth rate, meanwhile, is currently outpacing the rest of the UK consulting industry.
Globally the firm is growing strongly too, and as a result EY has sought to reward its staff’s hard work. 733 people have been promoted to Partner across the globe, with women and emerging markets representing nearly a third of this year's new Partner class at 30% and 33%, respectively. EY has been working consistently to improve the number of women in the upper echelons of its structure as a way to address its gender pay gap.
Carmine Di Sibio, EY Global Chairman and CEO, said, "Congratulations to all the new partners around the world on this exceptional career milestone. The growth and success of our organization are made possible by the contributions of this diverse group of leaders who represent our values, lead high-performing teams and help EY clients navigate disruption every day."
On a geographical basis, the Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA) area had the largest proportion of new Partners, with 275 promotions (38%), followed by the Americas area, with 264 promotions (36%). A quarter of the promotions were in EY’s advisory services line, with 186. Additionally, eight new Partners were named within business support.
Commenting on the news, Trent Henry, EY Global Vice Chair – Talent, stated, "I'm incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of the 733 new partners around the world. At EY, we're focused on developing dynamic leaders who are motivated by our purpose, and this year's new partners continue to demonstrate their commitment to leading EY teams, finding innovative ways to address client challenges and building a better working world."
