New consultancy Straightline picks up early contract wins
Just months after its formal launch, new professional services firm Straightline Consulting has landed a succession of major contracts. The firm will now provide services to Mace and Ellmer Construction across a number of different projects.
Despite the country bracing for Brexit, recent research from Deloitte suggests that the UK’s construction sector has made major strides in the right direction in the last year. Construction activity in four regional cities in Britain is at a record high, including a flurry of building projects in Manchester, despite uncertainty about Brexit, the Big Four firm found. As a result, demand for consultants in the sector is also buoyant.
Set up in late 2018 by Craig Eadie – a former Director at Dome Consulting – Straightline Consulting works to provide commissioning management and validation services to the construction and property markets. Despite being relatively new to the game, the consultancy already boasts a wealth of experience in commercial offices, mixed use schemes, data centres, shopping malls, residential schemes and hospitals. As a result, the fledgling firm has already chalked up its first string of major contract wins.
Straightline, which has just been awarded its Safe Contractor accreditation from health and safety body Alcumus, bagged consultancy works on schemes for Mace and Ellmer Construction. It will now take up a new role working with Mace Interiors to fit out HMRC's new offices in Bristol.
The contracts will also see Straightline provide commissioning management and validation services for Mace at Garrard House, one of London’s largest refurbishment jobs with a contract value of £50 million. As reported by the Construction Enquirer, elsewhere, Straightline will collaborate with Ellmer Construction on a luxury Mayfair residential job, while also working on a number of major data centre sites in Europe.
