Mazars Ireland appoints five new Partners
Mazars Ireland has announced the appointment of five Partners. Aedín Morkan, Emer O'Riordan, Patrick Gorry, Hilary Larkin have been promoted, while Graham Love arrives from the Higher Education Authority.
With the Irish consulting market continuing on a healthy growth track in 2019, many firms are looking to expand their headcount in anticipation of heightened demand. This has seen global audit and advisory firm Mazars appoint five new Partners across its Ireland operations.
Aedín Morkan has been appointed as an Audit and Assurance Partner for Mazars, with a focus on the not-for-profit sector. Morkan joined the professional services firm in 1999, and spent time as a Director Audit & Assurance Services with the company for the latter part of her nearly 20-year stay there. Specialising in the delivery of audit, financial reporting and other assurance services to charities and not-for-profits, she also leads the Mazars team which conducts the technical review for the Good Governance Awards.
Emer O'Riordan has meanwhile become an Audit and Business Advisory Partner, with a focus on mid-size privately owned businesses and the retail sector. O’Riordan arrived at Mazars in 2007 as an Audit Senior, reaching the rank of Director by 2014 and working across a range of industries including the retail, media, technology and communications sectors. She is a member of the ACCA Ireland Technology sub-committee.
Patrick Gorry has taken on the role of Partner in Mazars’ audit and business wing, in the latest chapter of his 11-year stay with the auditing and advisory firm. Having joined as an Audit Trainee in 2007, Gorry was made Director in 2015, having built significant experience leading international financial institution audit mandates with a focus on quality control and technical input.
Hilary Larkin has similarly been promoted, having enjoyed a decade-long period with Mazars. Larkin also joined as an Audit Trainee (in 2008), becoming a Director in Financial Advisory & Insolvency Services by late 2011. In her latest ascension, the chartered accountant has been made a Financial Advisory Partner, specialising in the provision of financial advisory and restructuring services.
Graham Love has meanwhile been appointed as a Partner in Mazars’ consulting practice, with a focus on the higher education and health sectors. Love is the only new hire among the new Partners, having previously served as the Chief Executive of the Higher Education Authority in Ireland. Earlier in his 20-year career, Love was a Manager in the Communications & High Tech Unit of Accenture.
Commenting on the new Partners, Mazars Ireland Managing Partner Mark Kennedy said, "The last year has seen the firm extend its service portfolio and increase revenue by 11.2%. These appointments are an important mark of our success to date, and future ambition."
