Ian Holder becomes Managing Partner at Mazars Birmingham

International professional services Mazars has installed a new Office Managing Partner in its Birmingham wing. Ian Holder joined the company two decades ago, and specialises in audit and advisory services for privately owned businesses.

Mazars expanded its revenue and headcount across the UK throughout last year. In Birmingham, Mazars enjoyed strong growth via serving entrepreneurial businesses and private clients, large and listed organisations, and public service bodies. The successful 12 months also included notable award wins for ‘Outstanding Diversity and Inclusion’ and ‘Overall Business of the Year’ from the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce, alongside numerous individual awards for members of the team including Laura Thursfield, Jon Bennett, and Ruzwan Boota.

Now, as the firm looks to further grow its large office in the nation’s second city, it has promoted a new Managing Partner for the locale. Ian Holder has been announced as Mazars’ new Office Managing Partner in Birmingham, taking up the position after a 20-year career with the firm in his home town.

A native Brummie, Holder grew up, studied, and has spent his entire professional career in Birmingham. An auditor by training, Holder started work with Allenbrooke Kingsley Mills as a Trainee in 1981. The following 18 years saw him rise to the rank of Partner in the firm, before joining Mazars in 1999. Since then, Holder has specialised in working with privately owned businesses and not-for-profit organisations. He is regularly involved in corporate finance work and transaction support services.

As Office Managing Partner, Holder will be responsible for creating and executing business strategy for a team of more than 170 professionals. He will also continue building momentum in the Birmingham market, taking an outward-focused approach and emphasising Mazars’ place in the local market.
