Asbestos consultancy Nichol Associates finds new Infinity Park home
A construction consultancy specialising in the removal of asbestos has agreed to move into a new development in the North East of England. The company is the first occupier of the new industrial unit, which provides state-of-the-art industrial and office accommodation.
Founded in 2006 by Dave Nichol, Nichol Associates is a consultancy which concentrates its resources on asbestos training, alongside removal, testing and disposal services. 12 years after its launch, the firm has grown to employ 32 staff, and an expansive client base throughout the UK. Due to its growth record, the firm required new industrial premises to accommodate its headcount.
As a result, the asbestos consultancy has agreed to a new lease for a 10,850 square feet unit at Infinity Park, Hebburn. The recently-completed £5 million speculative development in South Tyneside will welcome Nichol Associates as its first tenant, as the scheme comprised of three units developed by Washington-based Hellens Group continues to look for new occupants, in a letting process led by industrial property specialist HTA Real Estate.
Commenting on the move, David Nichol, founder and Managing Director of Nichol Associates, said, "Our new premises at Infinity Park provide an ideal solution as our business continues to evolve, with the potential for additional recruitment in the years ahead. We are actively looking to expand our services into manufacturing and other areas of the asbestos and environmental industry to cater for both national and international clients."
Nick Atkinson, director at HTA Real Estate, added, "Infinity Park provides Nichol Associates with a superb standard of industrial and office accommodation, in what is a very accessible location. We are pleased to report that one of the two remaining buildings is under offer and there is strong interest in the final unit. It would be great to see more speculative development projects come forward in the region to help fulfil the continued demand."
As the consulting industry looks for footholds in regional markets across the country, the North East is becoming an attractive prospect for mid-sized firms. Earlier in the year, this saw Whitecap announce it would launch an office in Newcastle, as it looks to meet clients’ growth ambitions in the region, including customer acquisition, new proposition development, new channel and market expansion, as well as digital and data-driven transformation. The Newcastle office will be located within Generator Studios, the city centre head office of Whitecap client and partner Hedgehog Lab.
