To bolster its recently established Cloud Solutions Practice, set up to provide clients with advice around cloud based transformations, Information Services Group (ISG) has decided to partner with spend management consulting firm NPI. With the move, both companies boost their cloud consultancy and implementation capabilities.

ISG Cloud Solutions Practice
While cloud technology offers the potential for huge advantages and savings for a business, complexity and costs associated with moving to the cloud are not necessarily easy to identify and can vary greatly across functional areas and business types. In a bid to improve the transparency around procedure and costs associated with a move onto the cloud for businesses, ISG in February 2015 launched a dedicated Cloud Solutions practice that aims at helping the firm’s client’s move seamlessly onto the cloud.

The partnership between ISG and consulting firm NPI brings together the two firms’ powers, with ISG providing expertise in deep information technology outsourcing (ITO) expertise, as well as cost and service benchmarking, while NPI brings expert advice around helping clients optimise intricate enterprise software licensing agreements and reduce costs to the partnership.

Helping clients with cloud complexity

Commenting on the partnership, Steve Hall, Partner and Head of Digital Technologies for ISG, says: “As IT vendors shift more offerings to the cloud, enterprises are struggling to evaluate and manage multiple – and new – licensing scenarios, navigate the transition from on-premise to cloud-based infrastructure, and assure that operational excellence is maintained – or improved – throughout the adoption lifecycle. Together, ISG and NPI can help our clients understand and steer clear of the new pitfalls in an increasingly cloud-enabled world, and achieve the cost efficiency and performance that will lead to new growth opportunities.”

Jon Winsett, CEO of NPI, adds: “The risks in IT sourcing have grown exponentially over the last three years, and it’s become impossible for enterprises to keep up – especially when it comes to cloud migration. Through our partnership with ISG, we’re able to optimise each IT purchase operationally, financially and strategically.”
