RSM appoints Paul Baldwin to its Swindon office as a Partner
RSM has appointed Paul Baldwin to its Swindon office as a Partner. He brings more than two decades of experience across some of the world’s largest professional services firms, and is tasked with supporting the firm’s corporate tax team.
In 2017, RSM increased its revenues by 9%, hitting £319 million by the end of 2017. The firm’s income for Consulting, Human Resource and Legal Services jumped 46.6% to almost £16 million, while tax and advisory increased by 8.6% to £138 million. RSM has 35 offices across the UK, and late last year, the firm witnessed its presence in the country expand significantly.
Now, as the firm looks to maintain its growth in its Swindon practice, it has appointed a new Partner to the office. Paul Baldwin was previously with rival FTI Consulting for the past more than ten years, most recently as a Managing Director in the firm’s European Tax Advisory Services. The role saw him advise and provide leadership to clients on among others, M&A, international financing, corporate restructuring and formal insolvency projects. He has also spent time with two members of the Big Four. Most recently, he worked with EY for two and a half years as a Senior Tax Manager, on topics such as corporate tax aspects of M&A transactions.
An earlier role included three years at Deloitte as a Senior Tax Manager, and before that he commenced his career at the now defunct Arthur Anderson. At the then-Big Five member, he worked as a Tax Manager, among other roles, over a six-year period. He holds a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Imperial College London.
Baldwin now joins the RSM office In Swindon. He brings extensive experience in the field to his position as Partner, covering restructuring and investment as well as compliance issues in both an international and domestic setting. The new role will see him support the development of the firm’s corporate tax team as well as building the firm’s client base in the segment, in addition to lending his expertise to the businesses he serves.
Sharon Omer-Kaye, RSM’s office managing partner in Swindon said, “I’m delighted to welcome Paul to RSM in Swindon. He brings with him a wealth of experience which will add strength and depth to our highly skilled team of partners and staff here in Swindon.”
Commenting on his appointment, Baldwin said, “This is very exciting time to be joining RSM’s practice in Swindon. The town is currently seeing investment and growth virtually unprecedented since the original arrival of the railway. This is opening up huge possibilities for the region’s businesses as well as for the entrepreneurs and investors behind them. Helping those businesses to capitalise on these new opportunities provides an ideal challenge for the next stage of my career.”
