Ruairí Allen and Daniel Gaffney named Partners at Deloitte Ireland
Deloitte Consulting’s Ireland arm has made two internal Partner appointments in preparation for changing demand in coming months. Ruairí Allen takes the position of Partner having been with the firm since 2011, which Daniel Gaffney receives his promotion having first worked for the Big Four firm as a Summer Intern in 2003.
As businesses around the world attempt to navigate an ever-changing environment, with technology, regulation, stakeholder expectations, among other factors driving change, Deloitte has been preparing itself for heightened demand. the one similarity across all of these areas is the pace at which this change is happening. Amid some 136 Partner promotions across Deloitte’s Western Europe division, Ruairí Allen and Daniel Gaffney have been appointed partners in the firm’s Consulting department in Ireland.
Ruairí Allen joined Deloitte in 2011, following a two-year stint as Lead J2EE Engineer with Curach Consulting. Since joining the firm, Allen – who holds a first-class honours degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications from the University of Limerick – has focused on Deloitte Ireland’s Technology practice, where he will now be a Partner, specialising in large-scale systems integration and enterprise architecture. With over 15 years of experience as a technology advisor and delivery manager working in a variety of industries including financial services and public sector, Allen has quickly risen through the ranks at Deloitte, having become a Director two years ago. His areas of expertise include the design and implementation of secure digital solutions, legacy systems migration and complex data transformation and migration.
Daniel Gaffney first worked for Deloitte 15 years ago, having initially joined the firm in 2003 as a Summer Intern. He then spent a brief spell as a Tutor at Dublin City University, teaching final year students in BA in European Business, before returning to Deloitte to take up a formal role in Assurance & Advisory Services in 2005, spending four years in that capacity. Specialising in the provision of finance transformation services to clients in the banking and insurance sectors, Gaffney reached the level of Director in the firm’s financial services industry group, before his most recent promotion to Partner. He holds a Masters in Accounting and a BA in Accounting from Dublin City University, and is also a Chartered Accountant.
