Amber Wajahat and Al Radford join Thought Provoking Consulting
Thought Provoking Consulting has hired two sales directors to its international operations. Amber Wajahat joins the firm in the UK, while Al Radford joins in the US.
Thought Provoking Consulting (TPC), a specialist retail consulting firm based in the UK, has been expanding on a global basis in recent years. TPC provides a range of services and solutions in Pricing, Merchandise Planning, PLM (including 3D), Programmes of Change, Supply Chain and Change Management, aiming to Make complex challenges simpler through experience and pragmatism, while attempting to provoke long-term thought amid their client base.
The firm arrived in the US in 2015, and has enjoyed success of its own since establishing an office in Carlsbad, California, before purchasing US consulting firm Change 4 Growth in 2018. The firm has worked to consolidate its operations on both sides of the Atlantic over the past year, and has now confirmed the appointment of a new Business Development Director in the UK and a new Vice President in the US.
Amber Wajahat has joined TPC’s UK outfit, bringing 14 years of experience in industry to his new role. Wajahat will utilise his expertise in business development, marketing and strategic client development to lead TPC’s business development in the UK as a Business Development Director, as well as helping continue growing the firm’s community of high profile retailers.
Wajahat spent the last five years of his career with Planet Retail, where he most recently worked as Global Business Development Manager. Prior to this, he was Client Development Manager – Germany, Austria, Switzerland for Euromonitor International for over 18 months, and also spent time with AT&T and Progressive Digital Media, among other organisations. Wajahat holds a degree in Economics from Jamia University, New Delhi and an MBA from FORE School of Management.
In the US, meanwhile, Al Radford has become the newest addition to TPC’s North American team, arriving as a Vice President with responsibilities for sales and expanding the firm’s Supply Chain practice. Over his career, Radford has worked closely with over 250 retailers, wholesalers and manufacturing companies, helping those companies improve in-stock positions, increase margins, cut costs and reduce inventory by more than $3.5 billion.
Radford’s appointment comes on the heels of a successful two year stint with RELEX Solutions, a national multi-location industrial supplies wholesaler. In a career spanning three decades, Radford has worked to introduce emerging software and consulting services companies to the North American retail and wholesale markets, notably including an almost two year engagement with ERP giant Oracle’s retail division, as an Account Executive & Supply Chain Marketing staffer. He also holds a BS in Economics/Business Management from Centre College of Kentucky and a PhD in Smarter Buying from E3 Associates.
