Public sector consultancy Trueman Change has welcomed a new PMO Management Consultant to its ranks. Linsey Williamson joined the firm from BNP Paribas Personal Finance, adding to Trueman Change’s growing pool of public sector consulting experience.

Despite a challenging opening to 2018, outsourced work for local government remains a major source of income for the UK professional services sector. Public sector projects are also facing a management talent deficit, meaning that with many local councils still seeking to restructure, or balance their books following a decade of austerity cuts, consulting services are in demand from the public sector.

Founded in 2014, by long-time public sector management advisor Lucy Trueman, boutique consulting firm Trueman Change specialises in assisting public sector organisations. The firm currently enjoys a collective experience of 17 years, with staff having worked embedded in councils, the court service, the police and public private partnerships. Trueman Change is looking to grow its capacity to meet this workload, and announced a recruitment drive last year.

While the search for a new Project Officer continues, the firm has already boosted its headcount significantly. First, Project Management Consultant Helena Burrows arrived at the firm in late 2017, and now former BNP Paribas Personal Performance employee Linsey Williamson has further strengthened Trueman Change’s outfit.

Williamson has extensive experience in setting up and running Programme Management Offices (PMOs), having worked in the financial sector, along with having been a consultant for the public sector. In particular, she boasts extensive experience in project management and benefits realisation.

Williamson joined Tata Consultancy Services in 2011, working as an IT Project Manager by the end of her three year spell at the firm. During that tenure, she also offered her services as a classroom volunteer for the firm. Volunteering at Stepney Green School in East London was a fantastic experience, Williamson worked to share her career history and experience with children, in the hopes of inspiring a future generation into her line of work.

Joining BNP Paribas in 2015, she became Head of Programme Management Office by the end of her two year engagement at the professional services firm’s Personal Finance subsidiary, before opting to seek a new challenge at the end of last year. She will now serve as PMO Management Consultant at Trueman Change. Her most recent engagement for the firm is seeing her work with a local authority client in the West Midlands to build a corporate PMO function to ensure that the council’s organisation-wide transformation programme delivers.

Commenting on her appointment, Williamson said, “I am thrilled to be working with the team at Trueman Change, who are passionate about delivering sustainable change through effective project, change and PMO management.”

Lucy Trueman, Director at the firm, added, “Linsey has worked in a variety of project and PMO roles, in addition to providing consultancy services to the public sector. We are confident that she will bring a huge amount of skill and experience to the team as we develop our offering to clients.”
