US accounting and consulting firm Porter Keadle Moore (PKM) has acquired counterpart Holbrook Hicks and Associates. As part of the transaction, six professionals will join PKM, bringing the size of PKM to just under 70 accountants and consultants.

With a team of roughly 60 professionals Porter Keadle Moore, founded in 1977, belongs to one of the leading professional services firms in the US. The Atlanta-based business advisory supports clients with a range of accounting, audit and advisory services, with a focus on organisations in the financial, insurance and technology industries. Last year Accounting Today named PKM one of the ‘Best Accounting Firms to Work For’ in the U.S.

In line with its growth ambition in the region, PKM has extended its services with the  acquisition of Holbrook Hicks and Associates. The move adds six people to PKM, including Veronica Hicks, who joins as a Partner. The office of Holbrook Hicks and Associates, located in the Sandy Springs/Perimeter area of Metro Atlanta, will remain open as a branch office of PKM. With the addition of Holbrook Hicks and Associates, PKM’s team grows to just under 70 professionals, which represents a ~10% growth.

“This merger is an excellent fit,” says PKM Managing Partner Phil Moore. “It strengthens our audit, tax preparation and executive consulting services, as well as our small business outreach. It gives Veronica’s clients a wider array of service offerings, while the associates at her firm will receive more resources and potential for professional growth.”

“I’ve known PKM for several years – it is a great firm with a strong reputation,” comments Hicks. “It has a very upbeat, positive atmosphere, and we share the same philosophy about treating clients and staff responsibly and with respect.”
