Ecofys and Tauw intensify wind energy cooperation
Consulting firm Ecofys has signed a partnership with Tauw, a pan-European engineering and consulting firm. As part of the deal, both firms will intensify their cooperation in the area of wind energy, with a focus on the Dutch market.
With over 200 advisors working from offices in 6 countries, Ecofys is one of the largest consultancies specialised in sustainability advisory. The Netherlands-based firm support clients with among others renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy systems and climate policy topics.
Tauw has a workforce of nearly 1,000 professionals, operating from offices in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain and Italy. The engineering and advisory firm focuses mainly on environmental issues, supporting clients from strategic consultancy though to environmental operations and on-site technical support.
In recent years, Ecofys and Tauw have on numerous occasions worked together, in particular in their home-market. The consultancies for example joined forces on several wind energy impact assessments for governmental and private sector institutions, as well as executing joint projects for provinces and local governments, including Utrecht, the country’s fourth largest city. On the back of the collaboration the firms have now decided to intensify their relationship, with a focus on wind energy projects in the Netherlands.
With the move, the companies boost their service portfolio, both in breadth and depth, and anticipate on rising demand for wind energy expertise and support, with a total of 6,000 MW of wind capacity expected to be operational in the country’s energy ecosystem by 2020.
