CBIZ acquires benefits advisory Model Consulting

CBIZ, one of the largest professional services firms in the United States, has acquired Pennsylvania-based Model Consulting. Nearly fifteen employees of the HR consultancy will be integrated into CBIZ’s HR advisory practice.

Founded in 1990, Model Consulting provides employee benefit consulting services to mid-sized companies in the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey markets. Model Consulting has 13 employees and a revenue of approximately $4.2 million.

With a workforce of over 4,000, CBIZ is a large player in the US consulting industry. The business advisory provides professional business services including accounting, tax, financial advisory, risk advisory, real estate consulting, and valuation services. CBIZ has more than 100 offices in 34 states.

To boost its HR portfolio, CBIZ has decided to purchase Model Consulting, boosting its footprint in the Mid-Atlantic. Steve Gerard, Chairman and CEO of CBIZ, comments: “We are excited to welcome CBIZ. Neil Model, founder of Model Consulting, adds that he is “looking forward” to joining CBIZ, according to him the “#1 Benefit Specialist in the country”. Model  adds: “Together we will be able to provide expanded expertise and world class service to our clients.” Model Consulting will be integrated into CBIZ’s Plymouth Meeting office, and all 13 employees will transfer.
