Ricardo-AEA and Cascade have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that sees the firms bundle their capabilities to provide improved services to their clients. Among others, Ricardo-AEA will have its water based offerings strengthened, while Cascade will gain international reach.

Cascade is a UK-based environmental consultancy services firm. It services clients in the private sector, including the countries’ water companies, as well as public sector, including government departments and regulators. The firm has expertise in water resource management, catchment management and ecosystem approaches, water quality, waste water treatment and collection systems, flooding and coastal water management, and the environmental assessment of water infrastructure schemes.

The MoU between Cascade and international energy and environmental consulting firm Ricardo-AEA* sees the firms bundle their expertise and networks to better serve their (international) client base.

Ricardo-AEA & Cascade to synergise services offering

For Ricardo-AEA the synergy will mean that the firm can offer clients further depth in water consultancy, with an expansion of the firm’s water, economic, and climate change capabilities. “The collaboration with Cascade provides complementary capabilities that will develop and enhance our water offer, bringing it up to the strength of our other major technical teams advising clients on the key sustainability issues of the day,” explains Ricardo-AEA’s Director for Development Tim Curtis. “It will enable us to exploit the significant links between these topics, and also provides the major opportunity to take leading UK water expertise to our international clients.”

For Cascade the collaboration will mean it can leverage Ricardo-AEA’s capabilities in climate change, energy, economic assessment, resource efficiency and air quality for its clients’ projects and expand internationally. “Together the skill sets consolidate the environmental services required to enhance our offering to our core and extended client groups, to ensure that Cascade adapts to the evolving challenges over the next decade. We also look forward to working with Ricardo-AEA in the international arena which we expect to provide the company with exciting new opportunities,” says Kieran Conlan, CEO of Cascade.

* Ricardo-AEA is a subsidiary of Ricardo that focuses on solving some of the world’s environmental challenges and provides governments, public agencies and businesses with analysis, advice and data.
