Simon-Kucher promotes David Smith to Partner in London office
David Smith has joined the UK leadership team of global consultancy Simon-Kucher. After 11 years with the firm, the new Partner will lead a team of more than 70 employees across a range of service lines.
One year after breaking the barrier of 1,000 employees, now hosting over 1,100 employees in its 23 global offices, Simon-Kucher & Partners reached another major milestone last month; a turnover of more than €250 million. Over the past year, the strategy and sales & marketing consultancy added more than €10 million in revenue to take its tally to over a quarter of a billion, with the most important driver for the firm’s global growth being the demand in the area of digitisation in line with the broader developments in the consultancy market.
Now, as the consulting firm plans for further expansion in 2018, Simon-Kucher has announced the promotion of a new London Partner. David Smith, who was most recently Leader of the firm’s Education practice in the UK, has worked for both the London and San Francisco offices, conducting projects across the UK, Europe and the USA. His core focus areas are Software and B2B Data Services, helping companies achieve profit growth through effective pricing, marketing, sales and commercial strategy.
On top of his extensive experience with the consulting firm, Smith is also a published author, a regular conference speaker and commentator on pricing and commercial strategy topics. Before his 11 year spell at Simon-Kucher, he studied Economics at the University of Warwick.
Smith will now become one of Simon-Kucher’s six Partners in the United Kingdom, which includes Lebanese-origin Marc Matar and UK Managing Partner Mark Billige. He will, from the firm's base in London, co-lead a team of 77 employees across a wide range of sectors.
Billige, a former PwC consultant who established Simon-Kucher's UK office in 2006, said, “I am delighted that as part of our sustained growth David is joining us... We help our clients achieve sustainable profit growth by increasing their revenue. Digital transformation is changing business models, pricing, and sales at a tremendous pace."
"Against this backdrop, we support our clients on how to stay on the correct path and make the right decisions", added Georg Tacke, the German-origin CEO of Simon-Kucher. "We have being doing this successfully for the last 30 years and have grown continuously during that time – the election of a new Partner is a reflection of our success."
Meanwhile, in Germany, Simon-Kucher's home base, the consultancy appointed six new partners this year.
