8 consulting firms named Military Friendly Employer

Consulting firms Booz Allen Hamilton, CSC, Deloitte, CBRE, PwC, Accenture, KPMG and Cognizant have been recognised by ratings entity Victory Media as military friendly employers in their efforts to recruit and retain military personnel. 

Veteran-owned business Victory Media is a ratings entity founded in 2001 that surveys tens of thousands of institutions and compiles list that “capture best practices in recruitment and retention of military personnel as civilian employees, students and franchisees.”

Victory Media’s Military Friendly Employer list is an annual list of employers that have “the strongest job opportunities and programs for transitioning service members and spouses seeking civilian employment.” To compile the list, 5,000 companies, government agencies and non-profits are reviewed based on 100 questions that assess, among others, their long term commitment to hiring those with prior military service. Based on the results, 2% are listed in the top 100. In addition, around 5% earns the Military Friendly designation and the right to bear the Military Friendly trademark.

Among the hundred military friendly employers, several consulting firms are to be found. The highest listed consulting firm is Booz Allen Hamilton, which is ranked number 11, followed by CSC at the 21st place and Deloitte at 49. CBRE, PwC, Accenture and KPMG are also listed in the top 100, while Cognizant earned the Military Friendly designation. An overview of the ranked firms:

For consulting firms, ex-military personnel can prove very valuable for the business as they possess a range of valuable mental and competency skills. To profit from these skills, several firms have set up special recruitment efforts. Examples are Deloitte’s Military Transition and Talent Programme and EY’s military recruitment programme.
