Alicia Crisp and Edward Hooper join MHA MacIntyre Hudson in London
MHA MacIntyre Hudson have appointed Alicia Crisp as a new Partner and Edward Hooper as a Director, as the firm seeks to expand its capacity. While Hooper arrives by way of consulting firm RSM, Crisp is an internal promotion, something MHA are keen to encourage in future.
Professional services firm MHA MacIntyre Hudson provides accountancy, audit, tax & business advisory services to enterprises and individuals in the UK. In recent years the firm embarked on a fast-growth trajectory, mainly through acquisition. As the firm bids to increase the talent pool, Alicia Crisp has been appointed as a new partner at the firm, and will be based in their London office.
As a Chartered Accountant with nearly ten years’ experience of working in London, Crisp has previously focused on working with owner managed businesses. From start-ups to long standing companies, projects she has been involved in have required her to ensure compliance needs are efficiently dealt with, to allow time to identify opportunities to support clients.
After graduating from St. George's University of London with a BSc in Medical Radiologic Technology/Science in 2007, Crisp has been at MHA since arriving as a trainee soon after, qualifying in 2010. Since then she has ascended rapidly though the management hierarchy, being appointed as a Manager in 2012 and a Director in 2016. Now at 32, Crisp is one of the firm’s youngest ever Partners. Her promotion takes MHA MacIntyre Hudson’s Partnership count to 86, with more than 680 staff members across the UK.
“Alicia has gone from strength to strength during her career at MHA MacIntyre Hudson,” said partner MHA partner Grant Gleghorn. “We’re committed to the training and development of our staff and are always keen to promote from within. It’s encouraging when a talented individual like Alicia joins as a trainee and progresses to such a senior position,” he added.
Edward Hooper has been appointed as a director corporate finance team based in London, effective immediately. Having graduated from the University of Bath in 2004, with a BSc in Maths and Physics, Hooper is a Chartered Accountant and member of ICAEW, with over 10 years of experience.
He previously spent four years as a Corporate Finance Manager with BDO. Further to this consulting experience, prior to his appointment at MHA, he was an Associate Director at RSM UK.
The appointments follow the earlier arrival of new Partner Toby Stephenson. In September, Stephenson took up residency with MHA’s Birmingham office, with the aim of helping the office to develop and grow its client base in the region.
