BDO UK adds two partners to Financial Services team
BDO UK has strengthened its Financial Services team with to partner appointments: Fiona Raistrick and Richard Weighell. Raistrick re-joins the firm after working for the Financial Conduct Authority for two years, and Weighell joins the Financial Services line from BDO’s Risk Advisory Services team. Both additions will broaden the team’s knowledge.
Fiona Raistrick brings more than 15 years of experience in regulatory, consulting and assurance services to her new role as Partner in BDO’s Financial Services team. Raistrick re-joins BDO, after working at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for more than two years between 2012 and 2014. At the FCA, she acted as Manager Specialist Supervision and prior to that as Professional Services and Skilled Person Oversight. Prior to joining the FCA, Raistrick fulfilled the role of Director of BDO’s Financial Services Risk & Regulatory Practice for seven years, a practice she herself founded in 2004. Before this, she worked for EY as Manager Entrepreneurial Services and as Auditor for Morley and Scott, the firm she started her career at. Raistrick is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor degree in Biology from University of Nottingham.
Richard Weighell has been working at BDO for almost two years as Partner in the firm’s Risk Advisory Services team, a role he took on as a result of the merger between PKF UK with BDO in 2013. At PFK, he also fulfilled the role of Partner and headed PKF UK's Business Risk Services team since 1999. Prior to this, he worked as Senior Manager at EY and fulfilled several auditing roles, including as Audit Manager at Audit Commission, Principal Internal Auditor at London Borough of Newham, and Internal Auditor at Southwark Council. He started his career as Trainee Accountant at Sandwell MBC in 1985, a firm he joined straight out of University. Weighell also is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance from Leeds Metropolitan University.
