Cornerstone Research adds two principals to its London team
Cornerstone Research has added two principals to its London team: Luis Agosti and Ruxandra Ciupagea. The pair join from Compass Lexecon.
With over 700 staff across offices in the US and the UK, Cornerstone Research is one of the globe’s larger financial advisory firms, providing economic and financial consulting and expert testimony services, among others. Cornerstone's London office – the firm’s only hub outside of the US – has bolstered operations by poaching two economic experts from rival Compass Lexecon, an FTI Consulting subsidiary formed in 2008, through the merger of Competition Policy Associates (Compass) and Lexecon.
Ruxandra Ciupagea had been with Compass Lexecon since 2014, latterly serving as a senior economist. Previously, the advisor worked for NERA Economic Consulting – the economic consultancy arm of Marsh & McLennan Companies, the parent of Oliver Wyman and Mercer – in both Madrid and London. Ciupagea specialises in economic analysis on a breadth of matters ranging from price reviews and complex valuation matters to damages assessments, with particular expertise in energy and infrastructure markets. She has extensive experience in electricity market modelling, in addition to consulting on valuation of transmission assets and storage technologies.
Luis Agosti, who is an authority on the European natural gas and electric power markets, most recently served as a vice president at Compass Lexecon. He spent six years with the consulting firm, and earlier worked for Madrid-based professional services firm LECG & Ineco. Agosti provides expert analyses on major economic issues affecting energy markets and trends, as well as on the impact of new regulation and merger effects on competition. He further provides consulting and testimony on disputes relating to the pricing of natural gas and alleged breaches of the Energy Charter Treaty.
