Professional services group PSI Services (PSI) have completed their acquisition of talent strategy firm a&dc, in a deal advised by merger and acquisition (M&A) experts Equiteq. The transaction, closed for an undisclosed fee, sees PSI hope to expand its capacity to provide assessment solutions for employers, amid an increasingly competitive recruitment market.

PSI Services have added to their talent measurement solutions capabilities with the purchase of Assessment & Development Consultants (a&dc), an advisory group based in Guildford, Surrey, which specialises in behavioural assessment and development, for an undisclosed fee.

At a time when new technologies threaten to disrupt many industries – which has also seen many consultancies invest heavily in FinTech recently – firms focusing on behavioural assessment must also prepare for the future. Developing technologies may disrupt the recruitment industry as many companies understand it, with Steve Tapp, President and CEO at PSI, commenting that he hoped his company’s new acquisition would bolster their core talent assessment offering for clients in the future.

The consulting firm will integrate a&dc into its global Talent Assessment offering, as the deal grants PSI access to a large range of instruments and consulting strategy tools.

"With a&dc’s suite of assessment and development products, coupled with our leading edge technology, we will continue to drive innovative assessment solutions and enhance how our customers select and develop their workforce", said Tapp.

Founded over three decades ago, a&dc has since become a market leader in behavioural assessment and development, with the firm providing consultancy services and wide variety of tailored and bespoke products for clients across both public and private sectors. The company’s portfolio currently stands at over 250 assessments which, along with behavioural strategies for altering management cultures, a&dc hopes to further develop with access to PSI’s assessment technologies, enabling them to prepare for the digital era.

Dealmakers

Equiteq, a professional services group specialising in M&A, served as exclusive financial advisors to a&dc during the negotiations, with the transaction completing on the 5th of June 2017. Gabriela Silvestris, Director in Equiteq’s London office, remarked about the deal, “a&dc are the leaders in behavioural assessment and development with an impressive product portfolio in this field. The synergistic and strategic fit between a&dc and PSI was immediately apparent. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with the shareholders of a&dc and we are delighted about the outcome of this transaction. We wish both parties a successful future together.”

Nigel Povah, a&dc’s CEO meanwhile commented on the Equiteq’s involvement, “Equiteq provided an invaluable level of service and support throughout this process and I was most impressed with the level of commitment and professionalism displayed by the team.”
