James Mapes new head of healthcare consultancy Navigant Cymetri
Navigant Cymetri has picked up healthcare industry veteran James Mapes from GrePact where he was a Senior Vice President and Global Healthcare Executive. In his new role as leader of Navigant Cymetrix, Mapes is tasked with the leading further growth in the business unit across the US market.
Prior to joining Navigant Cymetrix, James Mapes worked at GenPact as a Senior Vice President and Global Healthcare Executive for more than two years. He was previously an Executive Advisor at The Burgess Group for a short stint in 2016, following almost three years at the United Health Group as a Senior Vice President in its OptumInsight business. Earlier in his career he worked as a Vice President in Care Management Operations and Technology at WellPoint, from 2009; Executive Vice President, Process Solutions Group at Perot Systems, from 2002; Vice President and Senior Business Information Officer at the American International Group, from 2000; as an Executive Director of Corporate Technology Services at Prudential Insurance, from 1997; and various roles of increasing seniority at NYSEG- Generation, where he started out in 1989.
Mapes holds an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Engineering Science from Alfred State College - SUNY College of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, Math, Computer Science from The State University of New York. In addition he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Executive Management programme and the Cornell University - S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management Healthcare Executive Management programme in Leadership/ Executive Management.
Navigant Cymetrix is the healthcare business of consulting firm Navigant, which formed following the acquisition of Cymetrix in 2014 – the firm also added RevenueMed to the business last year. The business offers a range of business process and revenue cycle management solutions across to the healthcare sector in the US. Navigant’s announcement sees Mapes Join the business as leader of the business, he in addition becomes member of the firm’s healthcare practice leadership.
Mapes brings more than 25 years of experience to the consultancy, much of it in Vince President positions at various healthcare company’s across the US. In his new role, Mapes will be tasked with further expanding the firm’s business across the US.
