Former JLR executive Robert Joyce joins Automotive arm of Grant Thornton
Grant Thornton has hired formed Jaguar Land Rover Executive, Robert Joyce, as an Advisory Consultant in its Global Automotive team. Joyce brings more than 30 years of automotive industry experience to the firm, supporting clients meet with rapidly changing conditions, from digital disruption to market conditions.
Robert Joyce joined Jaguar Land Rover in 2000, starting out as a Director in Product Engineering, following the acquisition of a carve-out from BMW where Joyce worked as a Senior Vice President from 1997. In 2003 he became the Group Engineering Director and Chief Technology Officer, working on all technologies, research and technical programme support delivery, leading a team of more than 8,000 staff. In 2013, he became the Executive Director of Product Creation & Delivery and was responsible for leading 16 vehicle lines at the company, from strategy through to concept, new programme delivery, manufacturing, launch and market success. Earlier in his career, between 1987 and 1997, he worked in various roles for Rover Group, Waukesha Engineering, and the consulting arm of Ricardo AEA, where he started his career in 1979.
Joyce holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Leicester and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Warwick.
Joyce joins Grant Thornton as an Advisory Consultant in its Global Automotive team. He takes responsibility for the firm's UK business consulting team, focusing on developing relevant, progressive solutions for clients in the rapidly transforming business – including loss of capacity in the UK following Brexit, increasingly stringent compliance requirements, connected vehicle solutions, and rising automation.
