BDO buys Finnish M&A advisory Consilium Corporate Finance

BDO Finland has acquired Consilium Corporate Finance for an undisclosed sum. The addition boosts the firm’s regional corporate finance and M&A capabilities, as well as providing it with a certified advisor to the region’s First North stock exchange.

Consilium Corporate Finance is a Helsinki-based corporate finance advisory firm. The firm was founded in 2005 and is a certified advisor for First North, the Nordics’ alternative stock exchange for smaller companies. The company is operated by Pekka Lindholm and Tuomo Alamäki. 

BDO Finland’s acquisition of Consilium Corporate Finance further expands the firm’s footprint in the country. More specifically, it will boost the firm’s M&A capability in a time of continued robust activity in the Nordics and across the globe. The acquisition, in addition, adds a certified advisor to First North to BDO’s capabilities.

Lindholm, who cofounded Consilium and previously worked for a range of companies, including Coopers & Lybrand Consulting as Managing Director and Nokia Data as a Product Manager and Management Consultant, takes on the role of Director Corporate Finance at BDO Finland. Alamäki, whose career prior to joining Consilium in 2009 as Senior Partner, includes more than 20 years at Nokia, working across supervising positions within the company, in areas such as finance, strategic planning and the development of new business operations.
