Guy Carpenter names Tobias Andersson new CEO of Nordics
Guy Carpenter will have a new CEO of Nordics from next April: Tobias Andersson. The new boss, who has been with the Länsförsäkringar Group for 12 years, will take over the top position at the firm from Tomas Ljungqvist, who becomes Chairman. Andersson will be based in Stockholm and tasked with overseeing the firm’s Nordic strategy and execution of growth plans.
Tobias Andersson started at the Länsförsäkringar Group where he worked for 12 years, rising through the ranks to his current role as Manager in the company’s Business Area Reinsurance and Specialty. Previous roles include Reinsurance Manager and Head of LF Group Reinsurance from 2010 to 2015; Reinsurance Underwriter from 2009 to 2010; Manager of Market Analysis in Non-Life Insurance from 2008 to 2009; and a range of lower level positions at the company going back to the start of his career in 2004.
Andersson holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Lund University.
Andersson will become the CEO of Guy Carpenter Nordics as of 1 April 2017. The move will see Andersson take responsibility for the firm’s Nordic operations, from oversight to strengthening its regional position. Andersson replaces Tomas Ljungqvist, who will continue to support the organisation in the role of Chairman, and will report to Massimo Reina, CEO of Continental Europe & MENA.
Guy Carpenter is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies*. The subsidiary provides, among others, integrated reinsurance offerings and expertise. It was founded in 1922 and today has more than 2,400 employees working from 50 locations across the globe.
