Raymond James US hires school finance expert Brodie Killian
Raymond James has in the US hired banking and school finance expert Brodie Killian, who joins the firm from William Blair, in the role of Senior Vice President. In the new role, he will leverage his extensive experience to provide for the financial services needs of Michigan state school and college institutions, as well as support specialty bankers regarding large issuers, including higher education and healthcare institutions.
Prior to joining Raymond James, Brodie Killian worked as a Director in the Debt Capital Markets division of William Blair, where, between 2014 and 2016, he led the Michigan local government, school and community college finance team. Previously, Killian was the Deputy Superintendent Business & Operations for Plymouth Canton Community Schools from 2012. From 2009, Killian was at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney as a Financial Advisor, having joined from Stifel Nicolaus, where he started in 2008 as a Vice President.
Killian’s earlier roles include Assistant Vice President at Raymond James Public Finance between 2007 and 2008, Assistant Vice President of Public Finance at the National City Bank between 2005 and 2007, Assistant Vice president at NatCity Investments between 2005 and 2006, Analyst Comerica’s Comerica Securities Public Finance division between 2004 and 2005, and an Associate in Institutional Fixed Income Sales for the G.X. Clarke & Company where he started his career in 2003.
Killian holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Michigan – Stephen M. Ross School of Business and a Master of Public Policy in Business & Public Policy from the University of Michigan - Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.
Killian joins Raymond James as a Senior Vice President and will be responsible for providing solutions to the firm’s school and community college districts clients’ finance needs in Michigan, as well as leveraging his extensive experience in the banking sector to provide advice to specialty bankers regarding large issuers, including higher education and healthcare institutions.
