Booz Allen hires US Navy energy specialist David Stoudt

Booz Allen Hamilton has hired energy expert David Stoudt, who joins from the US Navy. He takes on the role of Senior Executive Advisor in the firm’s Directed Energy initiative in the US. In addition, Stoudt has been recognised by the firm as a Booz Allen Fellow, an elite group of the firm’s most noted luminaries in select functional disciplines.

Prior to joining Booz Allen Hamilton, David Stoudt worked for the US Navy for over 11 years in a number of different roles. His last role was as a Distinguished Engineer for Directed Energy for Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. Earlier roles include Senior Director, Capabilities and Concepts at the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy, and Nuclear Reactor Operator at the US Navy.

Stoudt holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Old Dominion University. Stoudt has won numerous awards and medals, including Scientist of the Year Award 2004 from the Naval Sea Systems Command, Medal for the Global War on Terrorism from the Secretary of Defense and the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award from the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy for Policy.

Booz Allen recently announced that Stoudt will join the firm as a Senior Executive Advisor within its Directed Energy initiative, based in McLean, Virginia. Leveraging his more than 25 years of high-energy experience, covering laser interactions with material, pulsed power technology, high-energy laser and high-power microwave weapons effects and modelling, Stoudt will provide the firm and its clients with thought leadership on a range of energy technology based matters. In addition, Booz Allen has recognised Stoudt as a Booz Allen Fellow – he joins an elite group of the firm’s most noted luminaries in select functional disciplines.
