Spence & Partners hires former Aon Hewitt consultant
UK pensions actuaries and administration specialist Spence and Partners has appointed Richard Smith as Consulting Actuary. Smith joins the firm with almost two decades of consulting experience after a career break that followed a nine-year career at Aon Hewitt and eight-year spell at Towers Watson. At Spence, Smith will service the firm’s clients across its four offices in the UK.
Spence and Partners is a pension actuaries and administration firm that provides actuarial advice to employers, trustees, pension plan members and professional advisers. The firm is based in the UK and has offices in London, Belfast, Glasgow and Dublin.
Richard Smith joins Spence and Partners after a career break and with extensive experience in the consulting industry. Prior to his break, Smith acted as Partner and Corporate Pensions Consultant at Aon Hewitt, the global talent, retirement and health solutions business of Aon, for 9 years. During this time he specialised in providing advice to employers sponsoring occupational pension plans. Before Aon Hewitt, Smith worked at Towers Perrin (now known as Towers Watson) as Consultant for eight years. Smith joined Towers Watson out of Oxford University in 1996 after earning his Master’s degree in Mathematics.
As consulting actuary at Spence and Partners, Smith will have a UK-wide focus and service clients across the firm’s offices in Glasgow, London, Bristol and Belfast.
