As the firm celebrates its 20th anniversary year, First Actuarial is opening a new office in central London. With the new location, First Actuarial is embarking on a fresh wave of staff recruitment to meet growing demand for its services while maintaining its high standards of delivery.

Founded in 2004, First Actuarial is a consulting firm which specialises in pension advisory services. The firm’s headcount across its five offices now tops 430, with locations in Leeds, Manchester, Peterborough, Tonbridge and Basingstoke.

Last year, First Actuarial reported turnover growth of 19%, with revenues hitting record levels. As it looks to build on this growth in its 20th year in business, the consultancy has announced it will add a sixth locale to its roster.

Close to Farringdon tube station, First Actuarial’s new London office is scheduled to open in the summer of 2024, and look to meet mounting demand from clients in the UK capital – particularly in the pension sector. Headed up by Andrew Allsopp, who recently joined First Actuarial, the office will benefit from excellent communal facilities and meeting rooms, and will provide a central base for client visits and networking nearby.

Allsopp commented, “First Actuarial’s stellar business growth shows no sign of slowing. We’re attracting large numbers of new clients while retaining existing ones. We can only safeguard and improve the quality of our services by bringing the right people on board, and we see London as an important hub where we can grow a new layer of talented employees.”

Looking ahead, Allsopp particularly prioritised building “closer relationships with independent trustees” in the pensions sector – the vast majority of which have a London presence. As the city is also one of the world’s leading financial hubs, even those that don’t “are highly active in the capital.”

The company has already started recruiting for actuarial and investment employees at every level, from graduate trainees to senior professionals. To that end, Allsopp concluded, that First Actuarial’s distinctive values “make the firm stand out as an employer. We are different, and we will continue to be different.”
