Arcadis signs alliance with Indian based Chola MS
Global engineering and consulting firm Arcadis has signed a strategic alliance with Cholamandalam MS Risk Services, one of India’s leading risk engineering consulting companies. As part of the alliance, the firms collaborate on SRM and environmental projects primarily in the oil / gas and transportation industries across India and South East Asia.
Established in 1994, Cholamandalam MS Risk Services (Chola MS) is a Chennai based risk consulting firm with a focus on the construction sector. The firm, a 50:50 joint venture between the multinationals Murugappa Group (India) and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group (Japan), operates mainly in the Asian market. Chola MS has a team of roughly 130 experts, working from offices in Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad and Pune.
With the strategic alliance, Arcadis significantly boosts its service portfolio in the area of safety and risk management (SRM), a fast-growing segment within the technical consulting industry. “The ability to identify and minimise risk exposure is an ever increasing concern for our clients as they enter more difficult environments such as offshore production and transfer facilities,” explains Mark Fenner, Global Director for Environmental Solutions at Arcadis. With the partnership in place, Arcadis will be able to leverage the specialist skills of Chola MS and hence provide clients with a “completer and better service”. In the coming months Arcadis will gradually integrate Chola MS’s service offerings into its existing portfolio and introduce the firm to its existing clients in the region.
“Arcadis is a global leader in its field and we are very excited about the opportunities this will bring for our clients and our people. We have worked on a number of projects within and outside India over the years and this will allow us to work with more clients,” says MM Murugappan, Chairman of Chola MS.
