Grant Thornton appoints new Actuarial and Risk Head

Grant Thornton UK has boosted its insurance expertise, with the appointment of Tim Roff, who will take on the role of Partner and Head of the Actuarial and Risk Practice.

Tim Roff has over 25 years of experience in providing risk management advice, and in-depth technical expertise in related regulatory, compliance and financial reporting matters. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Roff acted as Head of Insurance Risk and Actuarial Services of KPMG Europe, Global and UK Actuarial Lead of EY, and Principal of Tillinghast-Towers Perrin.

As a new Partner and Head of Actuarial and Risk, Roff will be based in London, and work from Grant Thornton's Finsbury Square offices. Commenting on his appointment, Roff says: “Grant Thornton's history and reputation for quality in the actuarial market and wider insurance sector offers an excellent platform for growth and I look forward to building on the work already being undertaken in this space by the team.”

Hiring spree
The hiring of Tim Roff follows several other appointments over the past two months. Andy Wood joined as the new Head of Grant Thornton Leeds and Newcastle, Andrew Vials as the new Head of the National Assurance Services Practice, Kevin Hollister as the new Associate Director for Grant Thornton’s Pensions Advisory Business, and Kevin Engel as the new Managing Partner for the Scottish business.
