Mercer Investments adds 4 consultants to US business

The Investment practice of Mercer has announced four senior additions to its North America team. The appointments reflect the firm’s ambitious growth plans in North America, says Rich Nuzum, Head of Mercer Investments in North America.

Mercer Investments, founded in 1975, is part of consulting firm Mercer and specifically focuses on the investments business. The business unit provides investment consulting and services, including guidance at each stage of the investment decision, risk management, and investment monitoring processes.

In line with its growth strategy in North America – Mercer Investments aims at further growing its footprint and track record in the coming years – the firm has recently added four senior investment experts to its team. An overview:

Investments

Neeraj Baxi joins Mercer Investments as a Senior Investment Consultant. Baxi comes from Primus Investment Management, where he was a Director for four years. Prior to that he worked for 10 years as a Principal at EnnisKnupp + Associates. Baxi has a Bachelor of Commerce, an MBA, and an Master of Finance in Financial Markets.

Brett Horton joins Mercer Investments with more than 25 years of experience focused on operational risk, due diligence and the detection of operational fraud and embezzlement. He will take on the role of Principal, and comes from Duff & Phelps, where he acted as Director. Prior to this, he held several management positions, among others the position of Senior Vice President at Marsh & McLennan, the parent company of Mercer. Horton holds a degree in Economics.

Chris Kohler has been appointed as Senior Consultant in Mercer’s Endowments and Foundations business. Kohler joins from Entrust Capital, where he served as Vice-President for 11 months. Prior to that he worked as Senior Investment Consultant and Investment Program Manager at Hewitt EnnisKnupp, and held several analytical and research positions, among others at Cambridge Associates. Kohler holds an MBA degree and a Bachelor degree in Economics.

Greg Korte joins Mercer Investments as Senior Consultant and Head of Mercer’s North American Trust/Custody & Securities Lending Consulting, and has more than 30 years of experience in the investments service industry. Before joining Mercer, Korte founded Korte & Associates Consulting. Prior to this, he worked at Russell Investments, Huntington Asset Services, and BISYS Fund Services. Korte has a Bachelor degree in Finance and Management.
