Capco London office nominated for SBID design award
The London office of consulting firm Capco has been nominated for a SBID International Design Award. The office has been designed by ThirdWay Interiors and D+DS architecture office, to meet the growing needs of the firm and the launch of its startup ‘BoldRocket’. The awards ceremony will be held on 14 November in London.
The SBID International Design Awards
The Society of British and International Design (SBID) is a UK based interior design professions standard-bearer organisation that also acts as the UK representative organisation at the European Council of Interior Architects. On an annual basis, the SBID organises its International Design Awards, and this year represents the fourth edition of the awards. With the awards, design excellence across a broad range of categories is recognised, rewarded and celebrated.
The awards are divided over 15 categories, including Retail Design, Intelligent Design, Restaurant & Bar Design, Support Services and Public Space. The winners are chosen on the base of technical content and aesthetic creativity by a jury of international industry leaders*. The prizes will be awarded on Friday November 14th 2014, at The Dorchester Hotel in London. The votes of the jury account for 60% of the overall score, and online voters for 40%.
In the category ‘New Build and Development’, the jury has nominated 8 finalists, including the London office of consulting firm Capco. The prize will be awarded to the best interior design project, based on among others interior space design, product installation and interior decoration.
The new Capco office in London was recently opened, to meet the firm's need for more office space, following its growing business in the UK (up 20% last year) and the launch of its ‘BoldRocket’ start-up. The firm, which earlier this year was nominated a best employer by The Sunday Times, hired ThirdWay Interiors and D+DS architecture office to design an office that represented their core values and would promote inspirational thinking.
* Among the judges are Ben McOwen Wilson, Director of YouTube EMEA; Kevin Mau, Senior Creative Director at The Boeing Company; Christopher Jenner, Creative Director of Eurostar, and Jane Preston, Facilities Manager UK, Real Estate & Workplace Services, Google.
