WTS strengthens senior team with Gordon McIntosh and Harinder Singh Ranshi
Tax advisory firm WTS has announced two senior appointments in its UK firm. Gordon McIntosh joins as a partner, while Harinder Singh Ranshi arrives as a director.
Jeff Soar, UK CEO of WTS, commented, “We’re pleased to welcome Gordon and Harinder to the team. Their experience across advisory and in-house roles will be a real asset as we continue to build our digital tax and indirect tax capabilities."
WTS is one of the leading tax advisory firms in Germany, generating annual revenues of more than €250 million. Last year, the group entered a long-term strategic partnership with the global private equity firm EQT, as it sought to expand its services to become an independent European champion in the tax advisory industry, uniquely free from annual audits. Realising that ambition in Britain will be WTS UK, launched in 2026 with major plans to see out the decade.
WTS launched with a double-digit number of partners, and it hopes to hit 100 within the next five years – something which would see it reach roughly 60% of the size of EY’s UK tax practice. As the firm pushes ahead with these ambitions, Gordon McIntosh joins from EY, where for over 10 years he held senior roles helping multinational clients modernise their tax function through technology and automation, and managing global tax compliance and reporting at scale.
McIntosh brings considerable experience in end-to-end delivery of AI systems to automate complex tax and compliance workflows throughout the full tax lifecycle. At WTS, he will work alongside Lubov Mikulaninecova to build out the firm’s digital tax practice, which focuses on helping clients build future-ready tax functions.
He added, “I’m delighted to be joining a firm which is purpose-built to capitalise on the changes that are coming to tax advisory. I look forward to working closely with Lubov and the wider team on building out our Digital Tax offering and providing our clients with clear, practical advice as they navigate the challenges and opportunities posed by AI.”
Harinder Singh Ranshi meanwhile joins from Acrisure, a global Fintech leader that operates primarily in the insurance space, where he oversaw the indirect tax function outside of the US. Prior to Acrisure, he spent almost nine years at BDO following a stint at HMRC. Arriving at WTS as a director, her brings experience in VAT, GST and other indirect tax regimes, and will strengthen the advice the firm offers clients in these areas.
Singh Ranshi noted in a post on LinkedIn, “It had to take a really exciting opportunity to tempt me away from my role at Acrisure…and I believe that I have found exactly that… Having attracted some of the brightest minds in the industry, WTS is leveraging best-in class technology with AI to produce clear, actionable and commercial advice for its clients. It has been nice getting to know the team over the past week and I look forward to seeing what this next chapter has in store.”
